Thank you
I would just like to thank everyone for the support and kindness shown to myself and our children, with a special thanks to One Iron and I hope he wont mind me sharing the lovely letter he sent me

Dennis, my friend by Bill Gardner
I met Dennis when he was 13 years old 45 years ago, even then I could see the and hear the passion for our club
Over the years we became great friends, we shared a room on away trips all over Europe, On one of our best trips we stayed in Davos in Switzerland, we played water polo, Dennis, Chas and me, we were called the dream team, we has so many laughs together.
Over the 10 years of running the Hornchurch Coach we had loads of fun and Dennis made our coach trips the one all fans wanted to go on, if you made coach 1 you were on the top table.
I hit hard times, laughter and tears hit me in equal amounts, Dennis stood by me and helped when I was down, I will never forget him, he was my brother that I never had, one day I hope we meet again.
I know that whenever West Ham play Dennis will be looking down cheering us on.
We will never see his like again, I miss him today, I will miss him tomorrow, I will miss him every day
God Bless Dennis

Re: Thank you
There is something truly special about coach trips and football and the long, long miles and being turned away from motorway services and those miles and miles and years and years.

A true labour of love with a comoradarie that springs from it that could only be found from that incredibly special nature of it.

Especially when the coach is on its way to watch the best football club in the world.

Sorry for your loss.

I can't claim to have any knowledge of you except through this site, but you nevertheless shine through it.

May the pain die, but the good memories remain.

Re: Thank you
So sorry for your loss Gurty. I hope you can find comfort in your memories and your friends and family. We’re only on this Earth for a short time, some shorter than others. It’s a cliche but we all have to make the most of it and enjoy it with the people we love doing the things we want to do.

Re: Thank you
Gurty

I think you and Dennis have been in the thoughts of many on here and well beyond in recent days. You can be so proud of the turn-out yesterday, just as Dennis will continue to be proud of you.

It may be, it often is, that once the first pain of loss and the ordeal of the funeral are over, what's left is an aching emptiness. I don't know you and never met Dennis, but I know I speak for everyone on here in saying that despite the tremendous crap that's routinely posted by WHO's old boots, this place is always ready with a metaphorical arm around the shoulder when needed.

*Wipes away genuine tear*

When people talk about things money cannot buy, this would be a prime example.

Big love to you Gurty x
